Crochet an infinity scarf with my easy but striking free pattern which uses the mosaic technique.
Suitable for beginners, if you can double crochet (US single crochet) and treble crochet (US double crochet) you’ll finish this project in no time.
If you’re an experienced crocheter, you’ll find this crochet infinity scarf pattern makes a quick and easy gift.
This crochet scarf pattern is written in UK and US crochet terms.
An infinity scarf is created by joining two ends together to form a loop and can range from 75cm (for one loop) to 150cm (for two or more loops) in length.
Intricate stitches tend to be hidden in the loops of an infinity scarf which is why I’ve created this crochet infinity scarf pattern with easy repeats and bold stitches.
Crocheted in chunky yarn for this scarf you’ll only need 200g. And using a 6mm hook and with only 22 rows, this mosaic crochet scarf pattern works up really quickly.
If you’re looking for a quick, one skein make, this project is perfect.

Yarn
Emu Classic Chunky is a wonderfully soft, smooth premium acrylic yarn that is easy to care for and gives excellent stitch definition while remaining soft and beautifully workable.
Pattern Notes
- This infinity scarf pattern is made using the Inset mosaic crochet technique
- Stitches are worked into the full stitch 3 rows below in the missed stitches
- The pattern is worked in 2 rows of each colour, turning your work at the end of a row
- Do not tie off at the end of a row but carry the unworked yarn up the side of your work
- Make sure you don’t pull the ‘floating’ yarn too tightly because you don’t want your rows to bunch up
- Change colour on the last pull through of the 2nd row
- MC = main colour FOG
- CC = contrasting colour DIJON
- Ch1 at the start of rows does not count as a stitch
- At the end of 11B, fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing the seam to make the loop
With mosaic crochet, it’s easy to see the pattern as you’re working. I find it helpful to use the stitches I’ve already made as a guide to continuing the pattern.
As well as written instructions I have created a mosaic chart for this free pattern.

Hi Shay, I really like the Infinity scarf mosaic pattern. I will add it to my growing list of makes. I also want to mention that my daughter’s name is Shanda and we nicknamed her “Shaz”. Interesting coincidence.
Hi Andrea, thank you for your lovely comment. I’m not sure if you noticed, this pattern has a print friendly button at the end of the instructions which means you can save it as a PDF. It might be easier for you to add to your list of makes 🙂
That is an interesting coincidence 😀
Happy crocheting ~ Shaz
