Design Inspiration
I needed a new tablet cover but wasn’t in love with those I found. My mosaic crochet sample was waiting to be worked up and was the perfect fit for the width.
Although custom made for my tablet, this crochet tablet cozy measures 10” x 7” (plus a little bit of stretch) and would fit many other brands, including iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
How the pattern is worked
One complete diamond mosaic pattern is worked before adding rows of double crochet (US single crochet) stitches.
A chain loop and crochet flower button is used to secure the opening and finishes off this project nicely for your one-of-a-kind crochet tablet cover.
The easy crochet flower is worked in rounds starting with a magic ring.

This is a quick and easy crochet project.

Yarn
This is a great stash busting crochet project. Use up those odds and ends!
You’ll need two contrasting colours for the mosaic crochet and flower and then one of those colours to complete the project.
I’ve used Emu Classic DK.
It’s a wonderfully soft and smooth premium acrylic yarn that doesn’t split. I’ve found the stitch definition is really good. And with 50 hand-selected colours to choose from, you’re bound to found the colour combinations that are right for you.

Crochet Tablet Cover Pattern Notes
- You will need to know how to read a mosaic chart. You’ll find all the information, including the free mosaic chart diagram.
- The mosaic crochet pattern is worked row by row without turning your work. More on the above link.
- Once the diamond mosaic pattern is complete, you will be turning your work and crocheting in rows of double crochet (US single crochet).
- You can choose to sew on a button to secure or crochet a flower/motif.
- Decide on the size you will be using and where you want to place it on the fabric before you crochet the chain in row 49. The size will determine the length of your crochet chain and how many stitches you skip.
- If you would like to crochet a flower, we are sharing an easy flower crochet pattern. This is worked in 2 rounds.
- Stitch markers are used to denote where the chain loop to secure begins and ends.
- When making the chain loop in row 49, fold fabric in half (width) and use stitch markers to denote either side and middle.
- The chain loop is made either side of the middle stitch.
- Check your chain loop before you continue with row 49.
- Ch1 does not count as a stitch.
- I have slipped stitch the seams but you can also sew to close your seams.
