Sun, sea and inescapable exes…

Peach is excited to hear that her sister, Di, is getting married. Of course, she would have preferred her little sister to be engaged to someone she’s known longer than a week – and the fact that his name is Charles doesn’t bode well – but who is she to judge?! After all, her own love life is non-existent, and who doesn’t love a destination wedding…?

Whisked away to the gorgeous Italian coast, Peach assumes her role as chief bridesmaid and, despite her reservations about the groom, she tries to ensure everything goes to plan.

But weddings are never straightforward affairs… throw in some unexpected guests in the form of ex-boyfriends and one night stands, and soon enough there is more drama than a reality TV show.

Can Peach keep the show on the road, or might she end up in a whirlwind romance of her own…?

Escape to the stunning Italian coast with bestseller Portia MacIntosh. Perfect for fans of Sophie Ranald and Mhairi MacFarlane.

Book Review

The title of the story really appealed to me seeing as I live near the beach myself and once I found out a lot of the story is set in Italy I was sold!

I’d previously read ‘Stuck on You’ and loved it so I knew I was in for a treat!

The main character in this book is called Peach and the first thing that struck me is that I loved her name. She is a mystery shopper who is best friends with her sister, Di.

When Di announces she is going to marry a man she’s known for only a week called Charles, Peach is stunned. The wedding is going to take place in an Italian resort, and there is someone who Peach wants to avoid.

There’s a lot of shared history with the guests at the wedding and for many of them it’s the first time they’ve seen each other for a while.

The result is hilarious and awkward and this coupled with the fact that Peach isn’t particularly impressed with her sister’s rash plan means there’s plenty of comedic moments.

Will the wedding go smoothly and will Peach find love?

This is one of those books that once I started reading, I just couldn’t put it down.

The author has a fantastic writing style which is both intelligent and witty and she creates characters that you can’t help falling in love with.

I warmed to Peach straight away and really wanted her to find love and happiness.

The fact that it’s set in Naples is the icing on the cake for me and really made it easy to imagine watching this on the big screen.

It would translate really well with great dialogue between characters, humour and location.

I loved every minute of reading Life’s A Beach and look forward to the author’s next book!
