A beautifully designed guided journal, with thoughtful prompts to track your tarot readings, complete with a history of tarot, guidance on how to use the cards, and a handy overview of each card’s meanings and interpretations

The Tarot Journal is full of thoughtful prompts to explain different types of reading, with over a hundred journal pages for you to keep a record of which cards come up and the messages they’re trying to tell you.

Once you discover the joy and power of working with the tarot, you’ll find the cards invaluable in guiding you through life’s ups and downs. From enhancing your self-care practices to revealing what the future may hold, they are a powerful tool for reflection as well as divination.

Book Review

Starting with a brief history of the tarot and moving on to the card meanings, this is a journal you’ll want to dip into again and again (not just when the journal is full).

I love how the interpretations for the Minor Arcana are grouped into aces, twos, threes and so on.  It makes it easier to see how similar forces apply differently to the suits.  For instance, aces are all beginnings and how that applies to wands, cups, swords and pentacles.

The journal isn’t prescriptive as in ‘you must do this first and that next.’  The recommendation is to choose a section you feel drawn to.

Sections you can choose from are Tarot for:

  • Reflection
  • Divination
  • Self-Care
  • Seeking Answers
  • Healing
  • Decision Making
  • Self-Discovery
  • Romance
  • Friendship
  • Career

Each section has recommended spreads as well as questions you might want to ask and prompts to get you thinking and to give you a deeper understanding.

My favourite question is ‘How does this make you feel?’  I see this as a validation of our feelings AND giving us space to consider how we feel.

There are a couple of spreads I haven’t come across before (and I’ve been working with tarot for myself as guidance on and off for a few years).

At the back of the journal there are several additional pages for you to record your readings.

This lovely volume is the whole package whether you’re just starting out with the tarot or are more experienced.
