It was all meant to be so easy. Payback with a difference.
I’d stay in Ballyholme, Northern Ireland, to decide whether to forgive my cheating husband, Ryan. Ciara, my new best friend, would stay in our London home, free of charge, until I made up my mind.
The ruse certainly had its plus points: Ciara’s unexpected appearance would freak Ryan out, and my disappearance should make him regret his roving eye.
But now I learn Ciara has evidence … evidence that my husband has committed murder. And she’s no longer answering my texts and calls. Is it some sort of blackmail plot? More worrying, if Ryan is indeed a killer, could he strike again?
Book Review
Main character Flo has found out that her husband Ryan has been having an affair with one of their neighbours. Devastated she flees to Ireland to try and escape him and make him realise the error of his ways. While there she meets Ciara and together they come up with a plan to try and catch Ryan out.
Ciara will move into Flo’s house and Flo will move into Ciara’s. The aim is to see whether Ryan will cheat with her and Flo will know that he is not worth any more of her time. Unbeknownst to Flo, however, she already knows Ryan and has her own reasons for wanting to live in their home. After a while, however, it becomes clear that Flo has been taken for a fool as she cannot get any contact from Ciara. What is the secret that Ciara clearly keeps regarding Ryan and questions arise as to whether he is a murderer as well as a cheat.
The Woman in my Home is a quick and suspenseful read with lots of twists to keep the reader entertained.
As the plot develops you cannot help but be drawn in to the story and my suspicions around Ciara turned out to be justified though I didn’t know how she already knew Ryan.
I loved watching as Flo got more confidence and control of her situation.
For me, the ending was unexpected and thrilling and I very much enjoyed this intriguing book.
