Book Review: The Last To Know by Laura Jane Williams

A joyful and uplifting romance set in Lisbon, The Last To Know is full of humour, heart, and unexpected connections.

Book cover of The Last To Know by Laura Jane Williams featuring two women on a beach in Lisbon beneath a bold pink and orange sunset rainbow. One woman sits wearing sunglasses and a pink dress, while the other stands looking towards the sea. The tagline reads: “Love was the plot twist they never saw coming.”

Ash has met her perfect match.

So has CJ.

Unfortunately for them, it’s the same man.

Mid-thirties and feeling the pressure, they’re ready to fight for him. Even if it means sabotaging each other.

As Ash and CJ turn up on each other’s dates, ruin one another’s chances, and accidentally end up spending an awful lot of time together, their friends begin to wonder. Are they fighting over the same guy? Or are they fighting their feelings for each other . . . ?

The Last To Know Review

A fabulously romantic story with a wonderful setting and the perfect holiday read.

CJ is a single mum navigating the ups and downs of her love life, while Ash is beginning a three-month sabbatical. Their worlds collide when they both fall for the same man.

At first, CJ and Ash seem determined to dislike each other and struggle to tolerate one another. Yet beneath the tension, there’s also an undeniable pull between them. Those conflicting emotions lead to an ending I wasn’t expecting but thoroughly enjoyed.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Lisbon, this story was joyful, funny, and uplifting.
