She promised not to tell. They made sure she couldn’t…
At her surprise 40th birthday party, Kate Granger feels like the luckiest woman in the world but just hours later her fifteen-year-old daughter, Caily, is found unconscious underneath a bridge when she should have been at school.
Now, Caily lies comatose in her hospital bed, and the police don’t believe it was an accident. As the investigation progresses, it soon becomes clear that not everyone in the family was where they claimed to be at the time of her fall.
Caily should be safe in hospital but not everyone wants her to wake up. Someone is desperate to protect the truth and it isn’t just Caily’s life that is in danger.
Because some secrets are worth killing for…
The Fall Review
I have enjoyed other stories by Louise Jenson and I was pleased to be able to review her latest thriller.
Twins Kate and Beth enjoyed a surprise fortieth birthday party, the next day separated these sisters after one of their teenage daughters was found unconscious and left in a coma.
When cousins Caily and Tegan failed to arrive for the final rehearsal for their school performance Kate and Beth become worried something terrible has happened. Questions are asked by police about family, their secrets and why anyone would push Caily off a bridge.
I felt compelled to keep reading this book and therefore it did not take me very long to finish.
I enjoyed the short chapters in this story and I liked that chapters had different viewpoints between Kate, her husband Matt, Beth and Caily leading up to her fall.
The atmospheric feelings of the farm are enhanced by the family’s financial situations.
The ending is shocking, and I loved I wasn’t able to guess it!
The Fall is a great psychological thriller filled with secrets, twists and turns to keep you reading.
