Sunset Hall doyenne Agnes Sharp is only too pleased when her housemate Edwina wins a trip to a spa hotel in Cornwall – heaven knows the group of elderly sleuths could do with a change of scenery. But it quickly becomes apparent that the hotel is no paradise, despite the romantic package and five-course menu.

As soon as they’ve made themselves comfortable, Agnes thinks she’s witnessed a murder on the cliffs. And it soon becomes clear that the perpetrator is among them. Will Agnes and her friends survive their holiday?

Agnes Sharp and the Trip of a Lifetime Review

I enjoyed this second story in the Agnes Sharp series. You don’t need to have read the first story, as book 2 can be read as a standalone.

Agnes is back with her fellow housemates at Sunset Hall but this time Edwina wins a romantic trip to a fancy hotel along the Cornish coast. Due to their boiler breaking the whole gang decide to join Edwina on her fortunate win.

The story focuses on Agnes as the main character however, the book is spilt into chapters with different points of view, including a snake (the turtle is hibernating).

I liked the quirky characters who all seem to be followed by murder. I love Agatha Christie and Poirot and like him, the residents at Sunset Hall cannot escape murder, even on holiday.

A fabulous read and wonderful for fans of Richard Osman’s murder series.
