Do movie romances ever happen in real life…?

Frankie doesn’t believe in true love. As relationships expert at popular magazine Stylife, she has learnt that dating disasters are far more common than happy ever afters.

So when she is tasked to find out if meet cutes can work in real life she is up for the challenge – but whether it’s being a damsel in distress with a flat tyre, or spilling coffee over a stranger, she isn’t convinced this can really lead to love.

But little does Frankie know that the ultimate meet cute opportunity is just around the corner. As she is whisked off her feet (all in the name of her work project of course…) perhaps true love isn’t just for the movies after all…?

Book Review

Frankie is a writer on a women’s magazine, writing articles about dating and relationships. In order to chronicle her own dating experiences she decides to see if she can meet someone the old fashioned way, with a variety of meet cutes. These prove to be hilarious and also failures, she’s not having much luck!

When she bumps into Max who happens to work in the office below hers, what follows is a series of chance encounters with him. Frankie’s boss is unconvinced by the boring ‘office romance’ method but when Max invites Frankie to Hawaii with him after his best friend bails on him, she decides to go with him, after all she is in desperate need of a holiday!

This is yet another excellent Portia Mackintosh book which always guarantees to put a smile on my face.

The Meet Cute Method is light-hearted, funny and with a dreamy setting, transports you away from the day to day.

Frankie is a likeable, sweet and quirky character who you cannot help but root for, and I enjoyed watching her and Max’s relationship blossom into something more.
