It’s not over until someone says ‘I do’…
While her friends join the “Wife Club” one by one, Poppy feels like that part of her life is done and dusted. Already married and divorced she’s not desperate to go through all that again.
But what if her divorce never actually went through…?
After a shock revelation Poppy not only discovers she is still married, but that Zac is about to have his second wedding!
Coming face to face with her (almost) ex-husband after six years apart is never going to be easy. And when Zac panics and tells his new wife-to-be that Poppy is family, things can’t get much worse as she is welcomed with open arms as part of the wedding party!
As the memories flood back, can Poppy really leave the past where it is? And can she watch the first love of her life walk down the aisle to say ‘I do’ once again?
A laugh-out-loud romantic comedy from top 10 bestseller Portia MacIntosh, guaranteed to brighten up your day.
Book Review
Poppy’s friends are all getting married and she’s the only single one left. She’s been married before and is now divorced, having met her ex-husband Zac while they were teenagers. She’s feeling down about the fact that her friends are leaving her behind, despite knowing that the divorce was the right thing to do.
Poppy’s finds out that she’s not actually divorced. The problem is that Zac is about to get married and it’s up to Poppy to stop his wedding otherwise he risks being a bigamist. The race to let him know is on.
No Ex Before Marriage is another brilliant read from Portia Mackintosh and just as entertaining as her previous books.
I loved the way Poppy and Zac’s love story is told from when they were teenagers and I got a sense of where things went wrong for them.
The setting for the wedding is gorgeous and grand and Zac’s new wife-to-be welcomes her with open arms (not knowing who she really is).
I loved the dynamic between Poppy and new friend, Kat which is what she needs after being left out by her old friends.
This book highlights the way women’s friendship change through their lives. These relationships are just as important as romantic ones and the author writes about this really well.
Poppy is likeable, relatable and I cared about her more and more as the story progressed. I was pleased with how it ended and was left with a smile on my face after I finished reading.
A fun, poignant and escapist read.
