A Day In The Rain … at Poole Quay

We wouldn’t have chosen a day at Poole Quay with the weather that was forecast, however my mum-in-law was staying with us and her sister and brother-in-law had planned a day trip from Somerset to spend the day there to meet her.

The forecast was for showers (on and off!) but we didn’t expect it to rain for the majority of the day …

The upside of course is that there was plenty of room to move around … sensible people were probably cheering themselves up with retail therapy!

Customs House – usually great to sit outside – looking desolate

First stop, The King Charles for lunch.

Haunted and steeped in history, The King Charles is one of the oldest pubs in Poole (dating back to 1765 and the building was a woolhouse in the 1300s).

A great place to shelter from the weather and catch up with family news.  Dogs are allowed on leads and seeing as we had Taz with us, a bonus for us.

Great prices and great service
