First of all I have to say I think Two Wordy is a fabulous name for this project 🙂
When I first started blogging, the authors I followed on social media chatted about their writing and sometimes about their lives too. Often writing was their only hard earned income. Over the past few years I’ve seen a trend with authors branching out and diversifying, using their skills by providing a service to others (editing/proof reading services, teaching creative writing, teaching about social media etc). Alongside that, everyone is finding new ways to tell their stories and interact with their audience and other writers with streaming live on FB and YouTube.
I want to spotlight one of those authors with you today. In 2012 I reviewed Kristy Brown’s YA fantasy series Kiera’s Quest (this series was a winner with me) and we’ve stayed chatting on social media. Recently she’s branched out with a joint collaboration on YouTube.
Here’s what Kristy has to say:
I have a joint new YouTube channel, “Two Wordy,” where myself and my writing friend talk about books, writing, films, building characters, adding backstory, lots of different topics really. We will try to put a piece up as often as possible and do a topical podcast once a month.
We’ve already covered Protagonists, anti-protagonists and a podcast where we chat about various book and film themes and characters.
It’s a joint effort where we both write the scripts, but my partner is the voice (she has a lot of experience, she is the voice for her Game of Thrones channel, “Secrets of the Citadel.” https://twitter.com/CitadelSecrets).
Please come over, subscribe and comment. We love hearing your views and of course we aren’t experts, we are going from opinions and our own experiences!
It’s exciting when you learn something new and get a collaborative project underway isn’t it.
I’ve recently listened to the third video in a series “What to do with Exposition & Backstory – the good and the bad (& the ugly)” and learned something new.
Whether you’re a writer or a reader you should click on over and have a look. As a reader it certainly makes me more appreciative of the skills writers’ use for my entertainment!
Good luck Kristy!
A little about me; I have a fantasy series, “Kiera’s Quest,” with Muse It Up Publishing. This year I’m working with them again to bring out my Paranormal Romance series, “Summer’s End,” for the YA reader.
I’ve just released a YA/teen contemporary romance book on Amazon, “Just Sam.” This is set loosely in the world of tennis as Sam wants to be the next big Wimbledon champion, but when she suffers a huge loss, it knocks her confidence. She closes her heart off so it won’t break again. We follow Sam as she battles her inner turmoil. She thinks life is out to get her and in her head is playing a match against life itself.
Just Sam is available in Print and Kindle formats.
You can find me on Twitter here- https://twitter.com/KBrownauthor
All Sam dreams of is being the next big tennis champion.
But when she suffers a great loss at such a young age, she finds it hard to believe in herself.
She becomes so scared of losing people that she hides her feelings to protect her heart.
Will she ever let anyone close enough to truly love her?
She never realised, her toughest match would be against life itself.
