Her husband’s killer may be closer than she thinks…
It’s been a year since Poppy’s husband, Jack, was brutally murdered during his morning run. She’s trying to move on but what happened that morning is still haunting her. And now she’s sure she is being followed…
Sleep deprived and secretly self-medicating, Poppy is unable to separate her dreams from reality. She feels like she’s losing her mind. But what if she’s not? What if she’s actually remembering what really happened? What if her husband wasn’t who he said he was? And what if his killer is still watching her…
Available to purchase in digital, hardcover, paperback and audio book formats.
Poppy recently lost her husband Jack and lost in grief uses sleeping pills alongside alcohol to cope. This leads to blank recollections of what has happened.
Narrated in the first person, the reader can witness all of Poppy’s inner-most thoughts and feelings.
The use of the protagonist’s memory loss, grief and abundant prescription drug use, distorts evidence and there is an element of dreams versus reality, to further complicate the plot.
After a slow build up in the middle part of the story there is an explosive ending, which is well worth the read. A sinister ending which highlights the dark consequences which can happen in everyday life.
Under My Skin is a suspense thriller which I found gripping, intense and dark.
