Book One

18 year old Hadley has led a charmed life, always knowing exactly what she wanted from it. She’d had her life distinctly mapped out in her head for as long as she remembered, but a chance meeting sends her into a tailspin…albeit a sensationally delicious one.

As she travels halfway across the world to fight for what’s hers, she stumbles time after time. It’s a journey of love, tears and learning; as she fights and attempts to overcome multiple hurdles standing in her way.

Book Two

Hadley is elated that her husband is finally coming home after years of fighting with immigration. Assuming that her “happily ever after” is about to begin, she dives in head first at being the best wife ever. An unexpected diagnosis sends her into a downward spiral. No amount of wine can help prepare her for this new journey.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, well…Hadley is in dire need of her village to help her get through the storm that lies ahead.

Interview

Hi Miranda,

Welcome to Jera’s Jamboree.

What was the idea/inspiration for your novel?

You know those moments where you look back on the last chapter of your life, and you think to yourself… GOD DANG that was a wild ride? I did that over the span of 10 years, and finally got the itch to write. It’s turned into a 3 book series, and has not only changed my life, but the lives of my readers. Essentially the life “poop-storms” we all go through, is what inspired me to tell my story, because when I shared it with people, we connected, and we resonated. There is nothing quite like the feeling of knowing someone else understands what you’re going through, is the best kind of hope one might need in a time of despair.

Did you do any research?  What resources did you use?

My research is real, raw, dirty, funny, awkward life. Each and every day is an adventure, and when you seek it, really interesting things happen that you just have to write down, sometimes reality is stranger than fiction.

Did you travel to any places or have any new experiences in relation to your series?

Through the last 10 years I have dealt personally with all the major issues the series speak to. Immigration, racism, long distance relationships, mental illness, addiction to name a few. Being elbows deep in that kind of stuff gives you a whole new perspective on life, and once I was a proper head space to share it, I started to write.

Do you have a theme for your book covers Miranda?  Who designs them?

I have to give it to my cover design Vanessa Mendozzi, I went through 3 cover designers prior to her, and none of them and I were vibing in the way we needed to be to create something phenomenal. When Vanessa and I connected, it was a match made in heaven. I emailed her my book and a brief blurb on my vison, and she came back within half a day with multiple options, all jaw dropping amazing; it was like she read my mind. By the time we got to the second book it was a no brainer, simple, clean, happy and eye catching. Which is something I try and strive to be; simple, clean, happy and eye catching!

You’ve mentioned your book is part of a series, what is in the future?

Actually, I am thrilled to share that I have started writing the third and final part of Hadley’s story with Chin Up Tits Out. It will be the best part to date. We finally connect all the story lines. We watch Hadley start from the bottom and work her way through it all, with a positive attitude, wine and a twisted sense of humour.

If you could have given your characters one piece of advice Miranda before the opening pages of the book, what would it be …

My advice to my characters would be the same as the advice I would give my family, my friends and my readers. Live your life with a chin up tits out attitude always, even when it seems impossible. Being positive is a daily choice, if everything else around you feels like it is crashing; it is your choice to find the positive. Choosing to be positive, and challenging yourself to find a silver lining in the darkest of situations will attract the most amazing blessings.

Who would you cast in the role of your characters if your books were optioned for a movie?

My ultimate dream come true; would be to have my series made into film or TV of some sort. Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Stone would be an amazing fit for Hadley. They both carry this independence and fierceness, and they both are a bit twisted, humorous and completely unapologetic for their uniqueness.

Finally, what has been the best part of your writing journey so far?

The best part of writing my story is sharing my story. As a story teller, I want to share my stories with the world, with the intent on making a positive impact on their lives, even if it’s only temporarily while reading the pages of my novels. Writing is a solo riding task, and there is a time and place for it, I do enjoy turning down, and in to have some one on one time with me, myself, and I. Glass…sorry, bottle of wine near, good music to groove to and drown out noise, and a full computer battery.

Thank you for being my guest today.
