Reading Challenge | Get out of your comfort zone

Are you looking for a reading challenge to get you out of your comfort zone?

Why a reading challenge?

Do you feel as if you’re reading the same genre books again and again? Are you looking for a reading challenge to open new doors and new adventures? Feel like you’ve become stuck in a comfort reading rut?

I felt as if I had become stuck. There are so many fabulous books being published all the time as well as books available from back catalogues.  But I do have the tendency to stick to the same genre with the odd foray into fantasy or YA novels.  To shake myself up and help me step out of that rut I had fun creating a challenge which you can join in too.

Join in the reading challenge any time of the year

It doesn’t matter when you start your reading challenge. There is no deadline and no expectation for you to let me know how you’re getting on (although you’re welcome to tweet me @shazgoodwin!).

There are a couple of guidelines for your success. 🙂

  • Be honest with yourself
  • Read at least one book from each category
  • One book might fit more than one category
  • If it feels like a chore, STOP!
  • The most important thing is to have fun
Guidelines for success in the reading challenge

Pat from The Squirrel Basket started the challenge in January 2017 and completed it in June 2019. Read her final post on her website.

You don’t have to complete all the challenge. This is a reading challenge to get you out of your comfort zone. The challenge is meant to entertain you and if you find that you’re choosing different genres then the challenge has worked to get you out of your comfort zone. 🙂
