Earlier in the week I gave a shout out about Shakespeare Week. Today I’m sharing what I’ve created from the awesome box of goodies sent to me by Viking. Hang around for the giveaway – it’s one not to miss!
Who is Viking?
Viking is one of the leading office supply and stationery store companies in the world, selling the biggest brands and the most sought after products in over 11 countries.
Viking stock thousands of products online and have an enormous range. Check out their ‘smart choice’ range – great value for money on their own brand products.
The challenge from Viking … have fun creating from the goodies in the box.
I enjoy writing poetry (although I haven’t written a poem in a long time) so it was an easy decision to focus my Shakespearean challenge on World Poetry Day! 🙂 I felt inspired to re-tell a well-known Shakespearean play.
I was eager to unpack the feather calligraphy pen. Calligraphy isn’t something I’ve done before but have always been interested in. And I did have fun …
Poem complete and authentic with an ink blot 🙂
I’ve also created a digital image of the poem.
Who am I?
It’s been awesome writing again. Huge thanks and gratitude to Viking for supplying the goodies which has given me the motivation to put pen to paper. All words are mine 🙂
How are you celebrating Shakespeare Week?
Have you written anything for World Poetry Day?
Thanks to the generosity of Viking I have a giveaway for my UK readers.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, Shakespeare Week is all about giving young people a chance to have a great first encounter with Shakespeare. How about the story of Romeo and Juliet told in texts?
YOLO Juliet by William Shakespeare and Brett Wright does exactly that and I have a copy to giveaway.
Imagine: What if those star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet had smartphones? A classic is reborn in this fun and funny adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays!
Two families at war.
A boy and a girl in love.
A secret marriage gone oh-so-wrong.
The classics just got a whole lot more interesting.
A Shakespeare play told through its characters texting with emojis, checking in at certain locations, and updating their relationship statuses.
To tie-in with the theme I also have a Romeo and Juliet Literary tea to giveaway blended by RosieLeaTeaUK. (Ingredients: Chinese Black Tea (85%), Rose Buds and Rose Petals).
