Brighten up your writing this summer

Finally! (feels like it’s taken forever) the end of the academic year has happened and so begins the time of year where I recoup and relax before September arrives.  To be honest, September is quite an exciting time – the sadness of saying goodbye to Year 6 passes while the newness of welcoming new Year 3’s alongside the transition for all other year groups (and not forgetting new members of staff) brings a different energy with different ‘themes.’

But before September arrives, I’m so looking forward to not being ruled by the clock and just going with the flow!  Oh and our family holiday too 🙂  I do have ‘vague’ plans this summer holiday … I hope to re-start a modular PhotoShop course and I’m hoping to get some creative writing down on paper.  While I was browsing and re-stocking my stationery stash I bought some things for a giveaway too which might help to brighten up your writing this summer (UK/ROI only).

One of the most popular brands in the comments on the blog during National Stationery Week was Paper Mate so of course I had to include this brand in the giveaway!  Paper Mate’s InkJoy 550 RT pens feature a rubberised tri-contour grip to ensure comfort, control and effortless writing. The hourglass shape is ideal for the contours of the hand, and the pearlised finish gives a modern look. This pack includes 3 ballpoint pens in colours blue, black and red, all of which write a medium 1mm line.

I’ve included a pack of 4 Sharpie Neon pens which grabbed my attention.  The vivid ink is fluorescent  under UV lighting.  How cool is that!  These permanent markers are quick drying, fade and water resistant.  I can imagine a lot of fun with these.

I’ll be highlighting parts of my writing this summer and there’s nothing more annoying than a highlighter that smudges is there?  Staedtler Textsurfer Classic leaves ink and handwritten text smudge free – not only that they’re refillable (haven’t ever heard of anyone refilling their highlighters though …).

Will you be doing anything creative this summer?
