As you might guess from my love of colour I’m a ‘visual’ person. Colours are so important in my life! They have the power to affect change on subtle levels as well as making a difference to space and temperature in relation to interior decor. I love the Pantone SS17 trending colours. Today I’m sharing a selection of items to brighten up your life this summer.
Whether you’re in the kitchen or having fun on the beach the sounds from the VQ Retro Mini DAB+/FM Radio will get you smiling. Great features including:
- Wirelessly stream your digital music collection using Bluetooth
- Great sound courtesy of an ultra-wide full range 5 Watt speaker
- Take it anywhere, just add batteries
- DAB/DAB+ and FM radio stations
Designed and engineered in the UK, a premium leatherette case provides a high-quality feel that looks great in a range of colours.
High audio quality comes courtesy of 5 Watt ultra-wide premium full range speaker driver. A range of equaliser presets let you tailor bass and treble levels to suit your taste.
I love that you have the option of portability as well as the wide choice of sounds and of course being able to stream your own music via Bluetooth.
Put your feet up and have a drink frpm one of the gorgeous Emma Bridgewater mugs. You probably know how much I love their mugs! You may remember that when Emma Bridgewater released the Wallflower pattern Spring 2016 it became my favourite pattern. The Polka Dot 1/2 Pint Mug is their best-selling mug and matches SS17 colours.
Made from English earthenware in Stoke-on-Trent, the mugs are dishwasher & microwave safe.
To go with your hot drink you’ll need a biscuit. Not just any old biscuit will do either, after all you are on holiday … treat yourself from the English Heritage Biscuit Collection!
Made in the UK for English Heritage, the biscuit collection is a delicious indulgent selection of three classic biscuits including; Orange & Lemon Biscuits bursting with tangy citrus peel; Chocolate Chunk Shortbread, light and buttery made with clotted cream and Spiced Ginger Biscuits, rich and warming with a hint of spice. This trio of biscuits is an indulgent treat enjoyed with afternoon tea. Yum!
You knew I was going to include stationery didn’t you 😉 I journal as a way of reflection and have my sights on this absolutely gorgeous Paperblanks Midi Flutterbyes.
Stunning colourways don’t you think?
There are 176 pages of good quality paper which are all feint ruled and on the rear of the notebook there is a pocket for storing loose papers. Perfect for writing for any occasion 🙂
And for writing you’ll need a … pen! I was sent the Lamy Safari Rollerpen from Pen Heaven and I can assure you not only does it write smoothly but it has an ergonomic grip that means hands don’t tire so easily. I wrote my notes at the recent Choc Lit on Tour event I attended with this pen.
Refills are very reasonably priced too.
It’s one of the most popular pens of all time for all ages and I can see why. Highly recommended by me!
Not everyone finds journalling easy so how about a guided journal? The Draw Every Day, Draw Every Way: Sketch, Paint, and Doodle Through One Creative Year was conceived by illustrator Jennifer Orkin Lewis.
It’s both a container and a cheerleader for carving out a moment of self-expression each day. To conquer the intimidating prospect of filling 365 blank spaces, Lewis divides the journal into twelve monthly themes and provides prompts suggesting what to draw each day. Each month begins with an inspiring tutorial that shows you how to draw with different materials: ballpoint pens, metallic gel pens, coloured pencils, paint and collage. The entries are not dated. You can work through the journal from front to back, or jump around and draw whatever appeals to you at the moment.
You could use those longer and lazy evenings to enjoy timeout and find that creativity that got left behind with childhood. It is on my wishlist!
Finally, I have a pencil with a difference. The Kaweco Skyline Sport Pink Push Pencil is small and lightweight. Copying the same design used by the Classic Sport since 1935, the Skyline Sport’s gloss barrel is accompanied by polished chrome for a sleek, modern finish.
I’ve been using the Skyline for planning out my projects and I have to say I love the hold/control the chunky octagonal barrel gives me. It’s a joy to use! Thanks to Pen Heaven for the opportunity to try out the Kaweco.
