Book Review | Princess Poppy Please Please Save the Bees by Janey Louise Jones

We’re delighted to be sharing Laura’s thoughts on publication day for Princess Poppy, Please Please Save the Bees by Janey Louise Jones.

Not only does this gorgeous children’s book introduce children to the need of nurturing our environment, it is also ethically produced by Eden Cooper on Forestry Stewardship Council paper using vegetable dye inks, made in Scotland to avoid airmiles.

Children are never too young to learn, here’s Laura’s little one getting ready to settle down to his bedtime story for Princess Poppy Please Please Save the Bees.

Princess Poppy Please, Please Save the Bees is a beautiful children’s book aimed at young readers and conservationists.

My first impression of the front cover was how attractive it is with beautiful illustrations and plenty of colour to entice young readers. I adored the illustrations and as I turned to the inside page I loved the colourful and informative map.

This is a wonderful story highlighting the crisis of both bumblebees and honey bees and the environmental costs it would have.

Princess Poppy and her friend, Honey discover that bees are in danger of disappearing and both learn it will effect honey, fruit and vegetables.

So Poppy decides to help to save the bees by organising a march to highlight this issue at the fair.

A great story with stunning illustrations, with information at the end of the book, which explains how everyone can support and look after our bees.
