• Finding your passion | Parkview Creative

While I have enjoyed promoting others over the years, I’ve found when it comes to Parkview Creative I’m not so great at shouting out about who we are and what we do.

Working together with other people is fabulous, however it doesn’t beat working with a family member creatively, especially when you both have a passion for what you do.  It was during a conversation when we realised how similar the initial creative process was for us both that we hit on the idea of collaborating and Parkview Creative became a reality.

Alfie (GoodwinDZN) specialises in digital graphic design and it has been his passion since secondary school when he studied Media Studies for GCSE. His first steps were designing for the local indie music industry (album covers, promotional banners, logos and flyers) which then evolved into also designing for other individuals and industries.  Whilst he can (and does) design conventional projects, he likes to go against the grain giving his designs an edge.

If you follow me on social media you’ll have seen me share occasionally about a crochet project I’m working on or yarn I just couldn’t resist buying.  My mum taught me to knit and crochet although it was knitting I found easier and continued with for years.  Last year I picked up a hook and haven’t stopped since!  There is so much choice of fibres and colours available which satisfies me immensely on a sensory and visual level and I’m still awestruck at how these combine into a finished project.  I have crocheted quite a few of my own designs and although I have the best intentions of writing out the pattern, my passion in the finished project means those intentions don’t materialise!  I’ve crocheted accessories for our home (if you come visit you’ll be in no doubt that a ‘hooker’ lives here), clothes for my family and I’ve worked on bespoke projects for customers.  Recently I’ve been working on a fabulous collaboration that I’ll be able to share in December.
