A few months ago on Instagram I came across Sherbet Lane and was excited to see that artist and owner Claire Keay was launching a fundraising campaign via Kickstarter for #Sherbetbox (a monthly subscription box full of yummy stationery goodies!).
Browsing Claire’s online shop I loved her designs. She has worked for many years as a children’s book illustrator (you might recognise some of Claire’s work).
Although she loves illustrating books for her clients, Claire says Sherbet Lane has given her a new freedom to use her own ideas for illustrations and she’s having so much fun coming up with new designs and ideas for the shop. I think #Sherbetbox is an exciting idea 🙂
#Sherbetbox was launched on Kickstarter on 25th April and it was funded within the first six hours! I missed the early bird deals but did pledge for June’s subscription box and a digital stationery set. By the end of the campaign, 500% was funded. How fabulous is that!
Each month is a different theme:
One random subscriber gets a special ‘star’ box with extra special stationery goodies inside each month and the money for that box will be given to charity. I love that Claire does this.
There are different ways you can purchase too. You can take a single subscription box each month (currently £15) or buy a three month subscription (currently £45.00). Claire has also recently set up a rolling subscription so that you can pause or skip a month (£14). Prices include P & P.
I was really excited when my June box came!
Claire is generously offering a discount code for my blog readers … keep reading.
For me #Sherbetbox is unique as Claire is the artist and designer for the products you receive each month. It’s not something she has sourced from somewhere else. This gives the stationery a personal touch. I think you’ll agree with me that £15 is great value for what you actually receive.
How beautiful are those designs? The card and paper used is top quality. There are four greetings cards (all blank for you to fill in your own message), a gift tag, two cards (which could be used for bookmarks/postcards/affirmations), to do notepad, pen and fabric covered pin badge.
I love that you have no idea what is going to be in a subscription box. The best surprise for me in June’s theme was … the night scented stock seeds. How perfect for the lighter evenings and evocative of an English summer garden!
Claire does offer some teasers about the next month’s theme on her social media channels so I would suggest you follow her if you’re a stationery lover like me. She also asks subscribers what themes they would like via polls and ideas for what types of stationery they would like to see.
I will definitely be purchasing another box. I was too late for July and August – all sold out soon after release. I’ve now joined the Facebook group so that I will know when September’s subscription box will be available!
Why don’t you try out a subscription box for yourself?
Claire is offering Jera’s Jamboree readers a £3 discount so you can try out #Sherbetbox (treat yourself!). For September (from 1st September 2016) use 3SHAZ at checkout. You won’t regret it.
* The £3 discount also applies to your first box should you choose to use the rolling subscription to purchase.
